The year 2025 has been a transformative one for VON’s evolutionary digital health project—VON Connect, powered by AlayaCare. 

Building on our team’s successes in 2024, we celebrated the launch of the technology platform in Halifax in February, completing the rollout at VON’s 11 Nova Scotia sites. Moving on to Southwestern Ontario, we then officially launched VON Connect in London, Middlesex Elgin, Grey Bruce and Strathroy in July, marking the first of our launches in Ontario since the North Bay and Porcupine beta launch in 2023. 

From there, our digital transformation continued to our Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant (HNHB) and Erie St. Clair (ESC) sites. Oxford and Perth Huron are up next—scheduled to go live on January 26, 2026—with all remaining sites in Ontario targeted for completion by mid-2026. 

Recently, VON was also pleased to receive an Early Adopter Award from AlayaCare, recognizing a customer who is leading the industry in adopting new standards and driving change within the home care sector.

This transformational project has required hard work, dedication and collaboration from the project teams, along with people leaders, sponsors, super users, frontline teams, corporate groups and our supportive community partners—everyone has played a key role in making this project a reality.

Strategic Plan 2025-30: Advance

The fourth pillar in VON’s 2025-30 strategic plan is Advance: Improve experiences and outcomes using data and technology. A key part of this pillar is leveraging our VON Connect digital transformation to simplify client and team experiences.

VON Connect will help us put paper in the past, building a better future for our clients, our staff and the environment. This secure software solution will connect every VON office, provider and client—helping us meet the growing demand for care and better supporting those who provide it. The software was developed for the home and community care sector and customized to suit VON’s unique needs.
