Lions of Nova Scotia support VON Connect

Lions of Nova Scotia support VON Connect

Over the past year, the Lions of Nova Scotia have donated nearly $30,000 to VON Connect, our end-to-end home care digital platform that will transform the way we work.

“I promoted support of the VON Connect initiative because I felt it was something that Lions across the province, with both organizations serving the same communities, could get behind,” says Joyce Gero, District Governor of the Lions of Nova Scotia, who helped to spread the word in her travels across the province. “This is a service we all may need someday, for ourselves or our loved ones, and it’s important to support its future.”

VON launched a capital campaign to raise the $10 million required to purchase and implement the software across the organization, and generous gifts like these will help us bring VON Connect to fruition.

Many Lions Clubs in Nova Scotia also support VON’s community support services, such as Meals on Wheels, Transportation and Adult Day Programs. VON is grateful to the Lions Clubs of Nova Scotia for their support of home and community care and for investing in the future of VON care in their communities across the province.

Thank you to the following Lions Clubs for their support: Lions of Nova Scotia (District N2), Canso Lions, Enfield-Elmsdale Lions, Lake Echo Lions and Lionesses, Yarmouth Lions, Annapolis Royal Lions, Pictou and Area Lions, Lawrencetown and District Lions, Rockingham Lions, Coldbrook Lions, Truro Lions, Musquodoboit Valley Lions, Bridgewater Lions Clubs, and individual Lions who participated in multiple 50/50s draws.
