Home Help provides seniors and those with physical disabilities with essential housekeeping, to help them stay in their own homes longer.
Isolated seniors, seniors recovering from surgery, frail seniors and people with permanent physical disabilities are eligible for Home Help services. The service helps people remain in their homes as long as possible, reducing the need for untimely admittance to long-term care.
Light house cleaning services may include dusting, vacuuming, laundry, mopping floors, cleaning of the bathroom and kitchen and linen changes. The program also provides assistance with laundry, meal preparation, groceries and errand pickups.
Upon acceptance, the client is assigned a home helper who can visit weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, based on the client’s need. The nominal per-hour fee for this service depends on a financial assessment.
