Seniors In-Home Exercise Programs - SMART

We offer SMART (Seniors Maintaining Active Roles Together)® In-Home program — to participants who are unable to attend community-based group exercise classes.

The in-home programs are delivered by an instructor or volunteer in the participant’s home. The instructor facilitates a standardized program of up to 15 gentle exercises that can be modified for all levels of ability. 

The goal of the program is for the participant to progress enough to be able to join the group exercise program upon completion of the in-home program.

If you’d like to get involved as a volunteer, let us know!  We provide training and support, at no cost.  No previous experience is required, just a desire to help others to become more physically active.

Regular physical activity is an important part of improving strength and balance in older adults. It can help manage weight, improve heart and lung function and help prevent or manage many chronic diseases.

Clients appreciate the chance to socialize and build relationships through the regular one-on-one visits from SMART providers.

Live independently

SMART In-Home improve mobility and coordination which can help prevent falls among older adults and allow them to continue living independently at home.
