VON Holiday Highlights
Several teams across VON celebrated the holiday season with special, heartwarming activities. The list below is only a snapshot of some of the many initiatives that took place at VON to bring holiday cheer to clients, colleagues and communities alike!
• VON Greater Napanee participated at the Royale Retirement Home Festival of Trees again this year. The VON SMART tree was decorated with exercising elves, resistance bands, exercise balls, rack cards with a tree skirt made of local community guides!
• VON elves in Thunder Bay spread some holiday humour by holding an ugly Christmas sweater day!
• VON Oxford and Sakura House teams celebrated their volunteers with an appreciation event and sang Christmas songs, dressed festive and enjoyed yummy treats.
• VON North Bay celebrated Meals on Wheels volunteers, including Nancy Bowness who has served the program for an outstanding 45 years!
• Community organizations HOPE Centre and Dial-a-Ride invited VON’s Adult Day Program in Yarmouth to join in on their Christmas lights tour through Yarmouth, with sweets and hot chocolate and caroling afterwards.
