VON Connect project update: Pictou County pilot site has successfully integrated AlayaCare into day-to-day life
The Adult Day Program using the electronic health record is a first for VON
VON’s Pictou County, Nova Scotia site has achieved their 1-month milestone with VON Connect, powered by AlayaCare, having actively used the system for over 30 days and successfully integrated the software into day-to-day life for staff and clients.
Community Support Services (CSS) clients (Meals on Wheels, Transportation and Adult Day Program), along with Home Support and Visiting Nursing clients, are all benefitting from our digital transformation with VON Connect.
Pictou County’s Adult Day Program (ADP) is the first in all of VON to be using VON Connect and contributing to each client’s electronic health record (EHR).
Features for ADP clients and staff include:
- Clients in the ADP receiving other services (e.g., Visiting Nursing, Home Support) have a single record, creating efficiencies in administration and enhancing the flow of information within the wider care team;
- Clients’ schedules are visible to ADP program staff, who can help plan and answer any questions, eliminating delays and fostering better communication;
- Staff contribute to the client’s permanent electronic chart in the form of digital narrative notes;
- Staff timekeeping and payroll is direct through the system, eliminating paper timesheets.
What’s up next?
Cumberland County is getting ready for go-live in mid to late August, followed by Annapolis Valley in mid to late September!
