The excitement is building for the 26th annual VON Activity Challenge, taking place on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Hosted by VON Middlesex Elgin, this event celebrates movement, connection, and community. Proceeds from the challenge support services such as Adult Day Programs, Bereavement Services, Home at Last, Meals on Wheels, SMART® Exercise and Falls Prevention, and Accessible Transportation Services in St. Thomas, Strathroy, Dorchester, and London.

These programs are vital for many individuals and families, helping them live safely, independently, and with dignity.

A celebration of community and wellness

The Activity Challenge is designed for all ages and abilities. Participants can join the fun in person at Mount Brydges Lions Park, where the day will begin with a SMART® exercise class led by trained instructors, followed by a trail walk, family activities with VON Family Supports, and a community barbecue sponsored by the Mount Brydges Lions Club. Those unable to attend in person can still be part of the challenge by participating virtually anytime between September 1 and September 27. Virtual participants are encouraged to move in whatever way works best for them, whether that means walking, gardening, dancing, swimming, or following along with SMART® exercise classes from home.

The VON Activity Challenge is more than just a day of movement. It is a celebration of community and inclusivity. With the theme “Any Activity, Any Ability, Any Age,” it invites everyone to take part in a way that feels right for them.

Every step taken, whether on the trail or at home, helps ensure that essential VON programs continue to thrive.

Join in on the fun!

Registration is free and open now, and participants who raise $25 or more will receive a special VON Activity Challenge T-shirt as a thank you gift. A toolkit is also available to guide participants with pledge forms, tracking tools, and fundraising resources. In addition, local businesses and organizations are encouraged to consider sponsorship opportunities, which offer community recognition and help extend the impact of the event even further.

Whether you attend in person or join virtually, the VON Activity Challenge is an opportunity to get active, connect with others, and support the important work of VON.

Mark your calendar, register today, and get ready to move for a cause that matters. Together we can make a meaningful difference!
