March: A Time to Spotlight Meals on Wheels
March for Meals is a province-wide awareness campaign led by the Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA), highlighting the impact of Meals on Wheels programs across Ontario.
The 2026 theme, “More Than a Meal,” reflects the essential role Meals on Wheels plays in our communities. Each delivery offers more than nutritious food — it includes a friendly visit and a reassuring check-in for seniors and adults with disabilities who rely on the service.
Together, these supports help reduce isolation, promote well-being, and enable people to remain safe and independent at home. VON sites across Ontario and Nova Scotia are joining the movement by showcasing the local impact of Meals on Wheels in their communities. Throughout the month, we’ll be highlighting the volunteers, donors, partners, and long-standing supporters who make this program possible.
Meals on Wheels is more than a meal — it’s nutrition, safety, and human connection delivered together to help people stay well at home.
This essential service:
• Reduces isolation
• Strengthens independence
• Provides reassurance through regular check-ins
