Halifax Chamber of Commerce Luncheon
VON was a proud host partner of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s “The Future of Nova Scotia’s Healthcare” luncheon on January 20th. Board member Cynthia Dorrington told guests, including Minister of Health and Wellness Michelle Thompson and CEO of Nova Scotia Health Karen Oldfield, that VON is uniquely positioned to offer effective home and community care solutions in a changing healthcare landscape.
“We know that most Nova Scotians would prefer to age at home. Many of us have family members who require support in order to remain in their homes,” Cynthia said. “We have seen the challenges they face, and we have imagined the futures we want for them and for ourselves.”
Cynthia also noted that, moving forward, the fundraising for and implementation of VON Connect will help us to help more clients stay healthy, live well and remain active. We were grateful for the opportunity to participate in this important conversation and to share more about how VON programs and services contribute to a vibrant, happy and healthy population who can grow older in their own homes and communities.
