Bringing Christmas cheer to our HNPE clients

Approximately 500 VON home-care clients in HNPE received a special gift of a small flowerpot and a Christmas card, created by local school children. The flowers were donated by Melanie Harrington, owner of Dahlia May Flower Farm in Trenton, as part of an annual initiative in which she sets out to give back to those in the health-care community.

“We would like to give a huge thank you to Dahlia May Flower Farm for selecting our VON site to receive Christmas plants for our clients. The whole project is absolutely inspiring and will bring so much joy to our clients. This is what community and the holidays are all about!” said Tanya Frobel, PSW program manager.

Staff in HNPE also recommended clients for a site-led “Christmas for Seniors” initiative, where individual sponsors in the community donated gift bags specifically curated for their senior in need. Staff helped organize and deliver the gifts of warm blankets, slippers, books, gift certificates and much more to clients leading up to the holidays.
