Moritz Bolle is VON’s Incoming President and Chief Executive Officer. He joins VON full-time on November 2, 2026, and will replace Jo-Anne Poirier as President and CEO on December 12, following a planned transition.
Moritz brings more than twenty years’ experience leading strategy, operations and transformation across healthcare, consulting and mission-driven organizations in Europe and Canada. His career has taken him from scientific research as a biochemist to management consulting, executive leadership in the non-profit sector, and most recently to leading Canadian operations and innovation at Teladoc Health, the world's leading provider of virtual care.
Moritz’ roles reflect a unifying purpose: improving people's lives by making complex systems simpler, more effective, and more human. He sees healthcare entering a transformative era, where advances in virtual care, remote monitoring, and data-driven decision-making are creating entirely new opportunities to support individuals in their homes, extend the reach of caregivers and deliver more proactive, better-connected, and more personalized support.
Inspired by VON's vision Every life lived to the fullest, Moritz is excited to work with the team to continue shaping VON’s future, at a time when Canada's ageing population, workforce challenges and evolving care needs make its mission more important than ever. He has also experienced first-hand what compassionate care at home can mean for a family member, making his new role all the more personal.
Moritz is originally from Germany and is now based in Toronto. He enjoys bringing together perspectives from different countries, sectors, and disciplines. His personal interests reflect the same qualities that have shaped his career and his approach to leadership: curiosity, openness to different perspectives, and a commitment to continual growth. Outside of work, he is an enthusiastic lifelong learner with interests ranging from healthcare innovation to public policy, music, and Toronto's rich multicultural communities. He is a licensed private pilot who relishes the discipline that flying demands and enjoys discovering Ontario from the air. He also enjoys cooking, cycling, and travelling with his partner and two daughters.
Moritz holds a M.Phil. in Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge, an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Freie Universität Berlin, and a graduate certificate in Business from Texas A&M University.
