VON’s Nurse Practitioners (NPs) provide a wide range of primary healthcare services to people of all ages in the Grey Bruce area. NPs can diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications and perform medical procedures. At this time, we are accepting new patients in the Saugeen Shores community (for people without a Nurse Practitioner or Doctor in the area).
Please note, we do not accept walk-in appointments. To become an ongoing patient with a nurse practitioner, you must first register online with Health Care Connect by calling 1-800-445-1822.
Once you are a registered patient, you can schedule appointments by choosing from available timeslots in the Ocean Referral Service portal:
Limited urgent care appointments may be available for temporary residents, who are visiting the area for pleasure or business, i.e. contract/temporary employees or cottagers/vacationers. In this situation, please call 226-909-1309 in the morning to inquire about a same-day or next-day appointment.

Eligibility:
Nurse practitioner services are available to residents of Saugeen Shores, Wiarton and surrounding areas who do not currently have a primary care provider. Patients who wish to sign up with a nurse practitioner must register through Health Care Connect. Chronic conditions will not be managed if you have a provider elsewhere. Controlled drugs and substances, for example, opioids such as Percocet will not be prescribed.
