DNA Paternity Testing:
Trained staff take finger prints, cheek swabs and pictures of mothers and children for DNA testing, where paternity needs to be determined. Samples can be taken at a VON office or on-site and are tested in professional laboratories. All testing is conducted in a confidential environment.

Insurance Paramedicals
VON does health assessments, on behalf of insurance companies, of people who have applied for life insurance. Insurance paramedicals can include collection of blood and urine samples, or electrocardiograms.

Parish Nursing
The parish-nursing program promotes health through working with congregations to integrate faith and health. Parish nursing can include trained volunteers, who visit lonely and isolated parishioners; education programs; personal health counselling; support for people coping with illness and life transitions and assistance in finding appropriate community resources to meet health and wellness needs. This service is often free of charge.

VAC Assessments
Nursing assessment completed for Veterans Affairs Canada. Staff nurses are trained to complete the assessment and submit electronically to VAC.
