Adult Day 

The Adult Day program is a wonderful way to assist your aging family member maintain their maximum quality of life in a comfortable and safe environment. Programs are designed to support a person's health and well being by offering individual, small and large group social and recreation programs, therapeutic activities  (i.e. art, music, pets, mild exercise programs, sensory simulation games, cooking and baking, etc.), health promotion, nutrition and community education. Caregiver support and information sessions are also provided. Programs are offered daily, Monday to Friday.


Frozen Favorites

The Frozen Favorites Healthy Meal Program offers delicious and nutritious frozen meals prepared by a registered dietitian. This program provides healthy food choices for people who live alone, renal, pureed and diabetic special diets, chronically ill, those recovering from surgery or chemotherapy or simply for active people on the go! Delivery of meals to your home is available.


Healthy Living

The Healthy Living program is an educational program delivered by current and retired registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in senior care complexes across metro Cape Breton. This program offers a healthy eating component, gentle exercise demonstration, preventative fall information, blood pressure and weight checks.


Vial of Life

 

The Vial of Life program consists of a medication bottle containing your in-case-of-emergency contacts as well as your medication information and health history. The purpose of the vial is to have your medical information readily available for emergency medical personnel, should a medical call or emergency occur at your home. Each Pharmasave location in Sydney (downtown, Health Park, Whitney Pier), Glace Bay, New Waterford, Dominion and Sydney Mines distributes the Vial of Life free to the community.
